Welcome to Myrrh & Melanin Botanicals. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These terms govern your use of our site and your purchase of our handcrafted natural skincare and home fragrance products. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website.

1. About Our Business

Myrrh & Melanin Botanicals is a small Black woman-owned business based in Maryland, USA, operating in full compliance with Maryland state law including the Maryland Consumer Protection Act (Md. Code Ann., Com. Law § 13-101 et seq.). Our products are handcrafted in small batches using 100% natural ingredients with no synthetic preservatives.

2. Products

We offer the following product categories:

Soy Wax Candles: Glass Jar Candles, Golden Collection Candles, Black Collection Candles
Handcrafted Natural Soaps: Square Bar Soaps, Oval Bar Soaps
Body Oils: Women’s Blends, Men’s Blends, Unisex Blends
Gift Sets: Sacred Glow Collection and additional curated sets

Because our products are handmade in small batches, slight variations in color, texture, weight, or appearance between batches are normal and expected. These variations are a hallmark of authentic handcrafted goods and do not constitute defects.

Product images on our website are representative. Actual product appearance may vary slightly due to the handmade nature of our goods and natural ingredient variances.

3. Custom Orders

We offer two types of custom orders:

a. Customer-Selected Custom Orders

You may choose your preferred scents, ingredients, or color combinations from our available options during the ordering process. Once you confirm your custom selections and place your order, those selections are final. Custom-selected orders cannot be canceled, exchanged, or refunded because they are made specifically for you.

b. Founder-Crafted Custom Blends

For a more personal experience, you may request a custom blend created by our founder. In this case, the founder will craft a one-of-a-kind scent or formula based on your preferences and inspiration. You may provide a name for the blend, or allow our founder to name it. These blends are entirely unique and made by hand for you alone.

Custom blend orders require additional processing time beyond our standard timeline. You will be notified of the estimated completion date at the time of order. Because these products are made exclusively for you, all sales on custom blend orders are final.

4. Ordering & Payment

By placing an order on our website, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and that all information you provide is accurate and complete. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order at our discretion.

We accept payment via all major credit cards and any additional payment methods displayed at checkout. All prices are listed in US Dollars.

Maryland sales tax will be applied to all orders shipped to Maryland addresses in accordance with Maryland law. Orders shipped outside Maryland are subject to the applicable sales tax laws of the destination state.

Payment is processed at the time your order is placed. We use secure, PCI-compliant payment processing. We do not store your full credit card information on our servers.

5. Order Processing & Fulfillment

All products are handmade to order. Standard processing time is 5 to 10 business days before your order ships. During peak seasons or promotional periods, processing times may be longer. You will receive an email confirmation when your order ships.

We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, weather events, or circumstances outside our control.

6. Cancellations

Orders may be canceled within 24 hours of placement, provided production has not yet begun. To request a cancellation, email us immediately at hello@myrrhmelaninbotanicals.com with your order number in the subject line.

Custom orders of any kind cannot be canceled once confirmed, as materials are sourced and production begins immediately upon confirmation.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including but not limited to product names, descriptions, photography, branding, logos, taglines, and the names of custom blends created by our founder, are the intellectual property of Myrrh & Melanin Botanicals. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any of our content for commercial purposes without our express written permission.

Our brand taglines — including “Rooted in Nature, Created for Melanin,” “Sacred Care for Melanin Skin,” and “Glow Naturally, Shine Spiritually” — are proprietary brand assets of Myrrh & Melanin Botanicals.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our products are crafted with care from natural ingredients. However, individual reactions to natural ingredients vary. We make no medical claims regarding the therapeutic benefits of our products. Our products are intended for external use only unless otherwise specified.

If you have known skin sensitivities or allergies, please review the full ingredient list for any product before purchasing. A patch test is always recommended before full-body use.

Our products are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by Maryland law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Maryland law, Myrrh & Melanin Botanicals shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of our products or website. Our total liability for any claim arising from a purchase shall not exceed the purchase price of the product in question.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or from a purchase shall be resolved under Maryland jurisdiction.

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, we ask that you contact us directly so we may work in good faith to resolve the issue.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised Effective Date. Continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
